Library: The Ranchi University library contains more than 90,000 textbooks, 10,000 reference books and 350 PhD theses. Students, research scholars and professors can use these materials. With the introduction of a fully operational INFLIBNET facility, the services of the library have become more useful. Automation of the library has been completed.

IT infrastructure: Ranchi University has excellent hardware and software computing facilities. It offers a variety of systems, each with its options. Most of these are Core 2 Duo computers (Intel i3 and i5 processors). Proprietary software from MECON India Ltd. is used for annual sample inspections. As part of the NMEICT project, all university departments and associated offices, including the library, university academic staff, and dormitories, are connected to NKN and offer a connection speed of 1 Gbps.
Hostel: For university students who desire to stay on campus, the hostel gives residential services. There are both boys’ and girls’ hostels:
- Boys’ Hostel - The Ranchi University hostels are separate for boys and girls. A total of 210 beds are available in the Ranchi University boys hostel.
- Girls’ Hostel - Girls' hostel has different rooms available for married and unmarried students. There are 60 beds available at the university girls' hostel.
Computer Centre: The IT department of the university evolved to offer viable services. It has net and INFLIBNET admission to 25 pc nodes.
Sports Facilities: Ranchi University has one playground, one fitness centre with all the services, and one volleyball courtroom docket.
Gym - The Ranchi University facilities include a gym so that students can take care of their health and fitness. Well-equipped gym at the university helps students to stay fit and healthy.
Sports – The Ranchi University campus has outdoor and indoor games facilities for students' entertainment. The university has basketball, badminton, tennis courts, cricket, and football grounds. About Ranchi University
Ranchi University was established on July 12, 1960 as an autonomous institution. Earlier, it was part of the Bihar University. Initially, the university offered only 10 postgraduate departments, one constituent college and 20 affiliated colleges. Presently, the university has 22 postgraduate departments, 19 constituent colleges and 47 affiliated colleges. It is a state public university which is situated in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The university has been recognised by UGC. It is a member of AIU and has been accredited by NAAC with a “B+” grade.
The campus of Ranchi University is spread over an area of 71 acres. There are a total of 3 hostels available at the campus of the university for both male and female students.
